Beautiful Painting Inside The Palace Of Versailles

Painting Inside The Palace Of Versailles – The paintings, completed in 1688-1689 by Jean Cotelle, Jean-Baptiste Martin the Elder and Etienne Allegrain, constitute an attractive and precise illustrated book of the groves, ponds and fountains described by Louis XIV in his Manière de montrer les jardins de Versailles (The Way to Present the Gardens of Versailles). A number of them have since disappeared or have been modified, such as the Labyrinth, destroyed in 1775.
Of the twenty four paintings in the gallery, fifteen need fundamental restorations of their support and the paint layer, which is entrusted to specialised restorers in each of these fields. Eight paintings are still up for adoption.
